Professional Experience
Dr Elizabeth Aizlewood is a UK trained, DHA licenced Clinical Psychologist, with extensive experience working in the National Health Service. Dr Aizlewood completed her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Canterbury Christ Church University in the UK and is also licenced by the Health and Care Professions Council.
Dr Aizlewood has a breadth of experience working with children, adolescents and adults of all ages and from varying backgrounds. Dr Aizlewood is experienced in a range of therapeutic models including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Systemic and Narrative Therapies, Compassion-based Therapies, Psychodynamic approaches (including Parent-Infant Psychotherapy), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).
Dr Aizlewood is also experienced in completing cognitive assessments with young people and writing these assessments as reports for families to share with other agencies, including schools. This is to aid in a systemic approach to supporting a young person and gaining a comprehensive understanding of their needs.
Dr Aizlewood practices in a very person-centred way, developing an individualised treatment plan for each client based on their individual presentation, needs and preferences.
