Imane Bougueffa is a trilingual (Arabic, French and English) Clinical Psychologist with 14 years’ experience in the field. She holds a PHD in Science of Clinical Psychology from El Hadj Lakhder University, Algeria, and has significant experience in clinical hospital environments in Algeria and mental health clinics in the UAE.
Her expertise has seen Imane present various lectures and teach others in examination and therapy techniques. She specialises in using acceptance-commitment therapy (ACT) in the treatment of mood disorders like depression and anxiety disorders like obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD).
ACT Therapy is the third generation of cognitive behavioural therapy and is an efficient treatment suitable for most psychological cases. This is the reason why ACT is the chosen treatment plan for most of Imane’s clients.
Imane also uses Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) to process all traumatic events. She also has experience in working with eating disorders using Family-Based Treatment (FBT), personality disorder using Dialectal Behaviour Therapy (DBT), and ACT for couples.
Her certification from the Biofeedback Certification International Alliance (BCIA) allows her to use neurofeedback therapy to help her clients deal with ADHD symptoms, anxiety and sleeping issues in children and adults.
